Sue Hereford
Director of Mortgage Production
As Retail Production Manager, Sue enjoys watching loan officers achieve their career goals. Sue
provides FirstBank Mortgage employees with the tools they need to provide the most excellent
customer service available in the market today. Heavily involved in recruitment for FirstBank,
she travels our footprint regularly. Sue lives in Huntsville, AL with her husband, Larry. In her
free time she enjoys running, equestrian riding, gardening and reading.
Dara Griffin
Retail Mortgage Production Assistant
With fifteen years mortgage experience as an assistant to Susan Hereford, Dara has been
directly involved in many aspects of the mortgage industry. She has worked in origination,
administration, and onboarding training. She has assisted Sue with the opening of new branch
locations and recruitment. Dara enjoys spending time with her husband, Brett, and their
daughter, Collins. In her free time, she loves attending concerts, traveling and spoiling her
nieces and nephews.
Caroline Smith
Mortgage Retail Admin Specialist
As the Mortgage Retail Admin Specialist, Caroline gets the opportunity to assist team members
with a variety of projects ranging from expenses, reporting, onboarding and offboarding, to
various marketing tasks. Previously an elementary school teacher of ten years, Caroline uses
her love of helping others to support those around her in whatever jobs need to be done. She is
married to Christopher and they have two little boys, Preston and Bennett. When not working
or running around picking up after her kids, you can find Caroline reading, drinking coffee,
cooking, visiting family, or exploring the outdoors with her family.
Brandon Burks
Tennessee Regional Manager
After many years as a top-producing loan officer with FirstBank, Brandon officially assumed the
Tennessee Regional Manager role in October 2018. From 2014-2017 Brandon ranked in the top
150 mortgage originators in the nation by the Scotsman Guide and was named the 2017 and
2018 Ruthies Awards Winner for Favorite Mortgage Loan Officer. Prior to mortgage originating,
Brandon was a math teacher at a local high school and is still currently coaching basketball.
Originally from Woodbury, TN, Brandon attended Middle Tennessee State University, where he
received a BS in Mathematics and his Masters in Business Administration. Brandon currently
resides in Murfreesboro, TN with his wife, Nicole, and children, Addison and Colton.
